Blog 2: What is a book?

A book is not just an object. To me, reading a book on a tablet or something electronically is not the same as reading a book. Everyone says that people rely too much on electronics as it is, people should know the feel of actually having the object at hand. It makes it so much easier to use. You may have to carry it around but in some certain cases it is more convenient to have the book on your person. some places like certain classes or something where there is not allowed to be technology would be an example.

I disagree with the idea of ebooks and reading books online. I think that if you don't have the actual copy of the book it wouldn't be the same. I think that people are too dependent on technology, eventually that's the only way we're going to be able to read. I don't think technology is always a good thing. It may just be me but when I have to do a lot of work on computers or if I'm on my phone too long or even watch too much tv it hurts my eyes. it makes me super tired and gives me a really bad headache. Although it may not be the case for all people I don't think that we all should have to deal with those kind of things. especially those of us who love reading.

I don't have a problem with other people using technical books, but it shouldn't go to the point that book stores and libraries close down because of it. People have their own preference and all people should have the option to read how they please. Personallu, my favorite part of getting a new book is the experience of buying it. going into say half price books, or barnes and noble and getting the opinion from people who like to read and can help you find a book that you would like and you can connect with them because you have something so simple in common with this person who you have never met.
